Baylor College of Medicine archivist position

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Baylor College of Medicine Archives is hiring a full-time project archivist. The position is to be funded for two years from date of hire with possibility of extension or becoming a permanent position depending on operational and resource considerations. Under the supervision of the Director
of the Archives, the project archivist will evaluate the approximately 2,100 linear feet of archival material in the Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., manuscript collection for historical and research importance and process the collection items using standard archival practices which include organizing and
categorizing, entering into and maintaining archival storage and information database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Masters degree in history, archives and records administration or related field including formal archival course work and a minimum of five years full-time archival experience including processing archival collections.

Preferred: ACA certification

Helpful: Prior experience in medical archives or with medical terminology
