Texas Poet Laureate - Morton - 2010

This Denton poet has published in a variety of journals, including Southwest American Literature, descant, Amarillo Bay, Concho River Review and the annual Texas Poetry Calendar. 
She authored the volume Wee Cowrin" Timorous Beastie.  She reads widely in public events and has been taped for some television.  This Aggie graduate is married and has a couple of teenagers.

Wonderful. Her poetry if fine. She's been bravely battling cancer. Glad to see her recognition.

The CURRENT Texas Poet Laureate is Paul Ruffin. Both Ruffin and Morton were just appointed in late April or May of this year. Morton is not the Poet Laureate until April of 2010 when her term begins.
The statement that "Paul Ruffin served the previous term" is misleading since his term just started. See http://PaulDRuffin.com for information on the new Poet Laureate for 2009.
