DRT Library Establishes Weblog

The Library at the Daughters of the Republic of Texas
has taken a simple leadership step in establishing a blog to explore its possible values. Certainly, staff time and such practical matters attend the blog's future, but the first entry (April) demonstrates a very practical and useful posting - it's a partial list of their recent acquisitions.

Certainly other information will find its way into the postings, but recent acquisitons lists are an excellent way of efficiently demonstrating a library's on-going traditional productivity, enlivening discussions by the news of new (or old) titles, and capitalizing on the library's developing electronic basis into other expressions.
Other Texana collections would be well served to follow the DRT's example and offer their recent acquistion lists in the same fashion.

The blog offers easy reader "subscription" by RSS feed.
