"For lovers of Texas history, it doesn't get much better than an artifact linked to the Battle of the Alamo.
And this weekend in San Antonio, a sword that is believed to have belonged to a defender in the legendary battle, along with scores of other historical items, will be part of the Frontier Times Auction.
Sword found near Bastrop
The sword was recovered along the Colorado River near Bastrop in the early 20th century. Other artifacts that were excavated at the site belonged to a Mexican regiment led by Gen. Antonio Gaona, which was in San Antonio shortly after the Battle of the Alamo." Read More About It in http://www.star-telegram.com/804/story/753962.html
